Project Title: The implementation of NMP recommendations by a targeted Dairy Discussion Group

Project description

The implementation of NMP actions on dairy farms is essential for the correct management of nutrients and to achieve maximum productivity. It is also a key contributor to improving overall sustainability of farming systems. Agricultural advisors in both Ireland and across the EU are facing the problem of poor adoption rates of practices such as recommended NMP actions on farms on a regular basis. This research will aim to investigate and identify the barriers which may have an effect on the adoption and implementation of these recommended NMP actions. This research also aims to investigate and develop approach/approaches which can be used by advisors to facilitate farmers to help with the implementation of recommended NMP actions.
