Bright Ketadzo
Project Title: Establishment of Verification and Funding Mechanisms to Support Climate Actions on Livestock Farms
Overview: Bright Ketadzo is a PhD student in Commerce at University College Cork, researching monitoring, reporting, and verification tools for carbon farming, along with funding mechanisms to accelerate climate action on livestock farms.
Given Ireland’s goal of reducing total emissions by 51% by 2030 (compared to pre-industrial levels), Bright’s project, Life Carbon Farming, aims to achieve a 15% reduction in farm carbon footprints by 2027. This requires developing an effective financial model to drive the adoption of carbon farming practices while identifying key risk factors that could hinder carbon farming finance in Ireland. His current research explores business interest in supporting carbon farming and adopting related business models to expedite climate mitigation efforts.
Bright holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (Agribusiness) and a Master of Philosophy in Agribusiness, with expertise in quantitative research and proficiency in STATA for data analysis. Outside of his research, he enjoys listening to music.
