Jack Bradley
Project title: Influence of agricultural management on soil microbial biodiversity and microbially mediated cycling in Irish peat soils.
Biography: Jack is investigating the mechanistic linkage between carbon age and stoichiometry with soil microbial community structure and function in Irish agricultural peat soils. He will also be examining the influence of different agricultural managements and trying to determine the mechanisms linking hydrology, nutrient status and microbial function in Irish peatland soils.
Peatlands are a significant source of carbon and Jack’s project will assist in understanding how microbes drive carbon and nutrient cycling in these systems.
