Project Title: Soil Health Indicators in agricultural soils of Ireland
Overview: Alex Castellon Meyrat received his BSc in Agriculture Engineering with mention in Soils and Water from the National University of Agriculture (Nicaragua). He obtained his Masters’ degree in Soil Biogeochemistry and Global Change in the International Masters of Science in Soils and Global Change (IMSOGLO), a joint ERASMUS Program organized by the universities of Ghent, Göttingen, Aarhus, and BOKU. Currently, he is a PhD Candidate from Teagasc and the University College Cork, under the Walsh Scholar Program. His research focuses on Soil Health Indicators in Agricultural Soils of Ireland. The research aims include a) develop an interpretative framework to evaluate and monitor soil health indicators trends, b) Identify promising indicators to monitor soil health, c) Evaluate the impact of agricultural systems and management practices on soil health indicators
